The jetty at Palmerston could be very dangerous at night because there was no lighting and no safety railing. In 1912, Quincy discovered how dangerous it could be when they were farewelling friends on the ship Guthrie and there was a terrible accident. Quincy’s friend Cissy saved the day by being incredibly brave.
