About

Robyn Smith PhD is an historian who has written extensively on the history, heritage and politics of the Northern Territory (Australia). The illlustrator is Nicky Boo (Watson) whose work beautifully captures the colours of the Northern Territory.

The adventures of Quincy & Pebbles are based on historical events and people. The end of each book features End Notes for parents, carers and teachers so that learning about a topic doesn't need to end where the book does.

Quincy and the Sheriff, for example, is an account of the first bombing raid on Darwin on 19 February 1942.  It tells the story of the court house where Quincy had been asked to deliver a message to the legendary Sheriff Joseph Wesley Nichols.  There, court staff, solicitors, accused persons and magistrates took shelter from the raid in frightening circumstances.
